WATCH: Indigenous Women Occupy Agency to Stop Canadian Belo Sun Mine in the Amazon
Indigenous peoples calling for an immediate halt to the Canadian Belo Sun mining project in the Amazon have occupied a nearby government building since December 8. They say the mine, layered on top of the impacts of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam, puts their territories and food security at risk.
